It seems to be knitted by hand ... In fact, this mini dress with a boat neckline is very easy to sew from a woolen knitted fabric!
DRESS, Model 109 from Burda Magazine 10/2011
YOU WILL NEED:
• coarse knitted fabric with a transverse ornamental pattern of 1.10 m, width 150 cm for all sizes;
• faux leather (trim) 0.30 m wide 140 cm;
• 1 secret zipper 22 cm long;
• threads for sewing; • needle of the sewing machine No. 80;
• a special foot of the sewing machine for attaching secret zippers;
• silk paper for transferring patterns from a sheet of patterns;
• pencil; • paper scissors; • tape measure;
• tailor pins; • tailor's chalk;
• cutting shears and small needlework scissors.
PATTERN
... pink, so it is easy to find on the sheets of patterns. Put silk paper on a sheet of patterns and pin it. Translate the details of the pattern of your size along the corresponding contour lines and do not forget about the marking and inscriptions! Also do not forget about the tucks on the chest for sizes 40 and 42.
Cut out the details of the pattern and place on a knitted fabric / artificial leather as shown in the layout plan on the right.
Extra tip: dress size is determined by the chest circumference: size. 34 = 80 cm, 36 = 84 cm, size. 38 = 88 cm, size. 40 = 92 cm, size 42 = 96 cm.
LAYOUT PLAN
shows how to arrange paper pattern details on knitted fabric / faux leather. On the knitted fabric, lay out the following details:
1 Before 1x
2 backrest 1x
On artificial leather, lay out the following details:
3 Sharpening the neck of the front with a fold 1x
4 Turning the neckline with a fold 1x
5 Turning armhole front 2x
6 Turning armhole back 2x
TIPS When folding and sewing, fold the cut parts with the front side inwards. Fasten at the beginning and end of each seam.
CUT
Fold the knitted fabric so that the edges align in the middle, pin the details of the paper pattern. Fold the artificial skin twice with the front side inward, put on it the details of the pattern and fix them with adhesive tape. Mark the allowances around the pattern details: 4 cm for bottom heming, 1.5 cm for all other sections. Cut out the details, transfer the seam lines to the cut parts (carbon paper).
DIRECTIONS
Only for sizes 40 and 42: before folding along the line of the middle of each tuck, face inward. Chuck the tuck lines, grind the tuck. Iron tuck depth down.
Zipper
Open the hidden hidden zipper with the upper side down on the left shoulder section of the back: the upper teeth of the hidden zipper lie at the marked line of the neckline, the braid of the hidden zipper lies at a distance of 5 mm from the section. Sew the hidden zipper to the cut mark with the special foot of the sewing machine to sew the hidden zipper.
Photo on the left: Close the hidden zipper. Pin the second tape of the hidden zipper to the left shoulder section of the front.
Photo on the right: Open the hidden zipper again and sew the second tape of the hidden zipper to the cut mark.
SHOULDER SEAMS
Fill the left shoulder seam to the zipper; to do this, pull the free end of the hidden zipper to the outside. Lay the stitch close to the cut mark. Cut off the free end of the hidden zipper 2 cm from the end of the cut. Perform the right shoulder seam.
NECK
On the neckline, first sew the right shoulder seam. Pin the neckline to the neckline with the front side to the front side. Unscrew the ends of the grind, not reaching approx. 5 mm to the edges of the cut under the zipper. The allowances at the edges of the cut (left shoulder seam) with a hidden zipper, unscrew to the front side and pin. Sew a line along the neckline.
Turn the grind and allowances along the edges of the cut to the seamy side, having previously cut off the allowances for the seam of the grind to the stitching close to the stitch. Iron the edge of the neck. Sew the ends of the trim to the braid of the hidden zipper with small hand stitches. Sew the inner cut of the hem with loose herringbone stitches.
Openings
Grind the armholes with grouts: on the armholes, grind the shoulder and side seams. Place the stitches on the armholes, pin and stitch. Unscrew the stitches on the seamy side, iron the edges, sew the inner sections with loose stitches.
FIT NIZE
Sew the hem for the hem of the bottom of the mini-dress, iron it on the wrong side and sew it manually with unstretched stitches.
