One of these characters is the Alkonost bird, whose voice is sweet and magical. According to legend, whoever hears the singing of Alkonost will forget everything with delight and joy.

Step 1: Making a Papier-Mache Face

To get started, find a convenient and understandable master class on how to make papier-mâché on the Internet. Then, we take a small amount of the resulting paper pulp, put it on an inverted earthenware saucer, so that the finished face turns out to be a little curved, becausethe brooch itself will have a small volume due to the fact that it is stuffed with sintepon.

Under the face, you need to put a piece of newspaper so that it does not stick to the saucer. We shape the bird’s face using the modeling stack and dots with tips of different sizes.

Dots is a tool with a metal ball at the end that is used to draw patterns on nails. It resembles a crochet hook, only the ends are round.

We leave the face to dry for about a day, and then gently grind it with a fine sandpaper, removing all irregularities.

We cover the face of the future bird with flesh-colored acrylic paint.

With a thin brush we draw eyebrows, eyelashes, lips, blush. Leave to dry for a while. Then we cover with acrylic varnish and let it dry too.

While the face is drying, we have time to cut and stitch the details of the bird.

Step 2

We grind off the details of the pattern, leaving a small hole, approximately at the place where we plan to make the bird's paws, it is also useful to us for twisting and stuffing the brooch.

Through the open hole, evenly fill the workpiece with a small amount of padding polyester so that the brooch regains volume.

Step 3

Glue the finished face to the body of the bird using universal glue.

Step 4

Using copper pliers, we construct the legs of a bird using copper pliers.

Sew the paws into the hole with a hidden seam.

Step 5

From a small piece of skin, cut out the wing and sew it to the bird.

Step 6

Now we proceed to the most interesting stage - decorating the brooch with beads and rhinestones!

This can be done based on your own taste and desires, to embroider various patterns, flowers, etc.

Step 7

It remains to make a hairstyle for our "songwriter" bird. To do this, cut curls of brown wool yarn, sew them manually in the middle and sew to the brooch.

Next, we braid the braids from the resulting hair and model the hairstyle, carefully styling and sewing the braids to the body of the bird.

We put rhinestone earrings on our beauty and tie a ribbon of beads to our hair.

Step 8

On the back of the bird we sew two basics for the brooch, because the product turned out to be voluminous and one basis will not hold it.

Due to the fact that the face is molded by hand, these brooches are always obtained not like one another.

It is best to wear them on plain clothes.

I wish you and your loved ones happiness, and also wish you always had enough time and effort to do needlework!
