This method is good when your jeans sit perfectly in the hips, but are too big at the waist. Most often, the belt protrudes slightly from the back - this looks messy. We already told how to solve such a problem with the help of rubber. The method below is a little more complicated, but gives a more inconspicuous result.

Stitched in this way, the jeans will sit back exactly and exactly in shape - like a glove!


How to sew jeans in a belt


You will need:

- centimeter;

- threads for basting and a manual needle;

- tailor pins;

- scissors;

- a spreader;

- pencil or crayon for fabric;

- iron;

- sewing machine and threads - in the color of denim and in the color of the threads of the finishing lines of your jeans.

Work sequence:

1. Try on jeans. Behind the middle seam, lay the fold on which the trousers should be sewn, and pin it with pins.

2. Carefully remove the jeans pinned up by pins. Draw a line with a pencil or crayon from the inside along the fold, pinned with pins. Remove the pins. Align the lines with contrasting threads.Open the loops if they are at the place of repair.

3. Fold the jeans in the crease and measure the width of the crease as shown in the photo. Record this value.


How to lengthen jeans


4. Lay out the basting lines, departing from the fold on each side of the value obtained in the previous paragraph - this will make it easier to navigate when working. Open the belt at the entire distance between these marks plus a couple of centimeters.

5. Fold the jeans exactly in the midline. Cut the belt in the middle and pin the future seam line with pins.

6. Sew along the intended line and process the seam.

7. Stitch the seam with one or two lines - as was done in the original.

8. Now we need to do the belt. Fold the cut pieces. Mark the line of the future seam.

9. Lay the stitch and iron the seam.

10. Put the belt back in place and pin it to the jeans.

11. Sew on a belt. If necessary, complete the finishing stitch. Finally, sew the loops / loops in place. Done.
