Velsoft (aka coral fleece) is a modern high-tech synthetic material. This is a soft, voluminous, yet lightweight canvas with a pile. Outwardly, the material is similar to something between a terry cloth, thin faux fur, fleece and velor.
This material was first produced in Japan in the 1970s. Then, very thin fibers were obtained from synthetic raw materials based on polyamide, which made it possible to make a soft, light bulk fabric from them. The fibers of modern velsoft have a maximum thickness of 0.06 mm.
