After decating and washing the tablecloth are dried only straightened. It is better to iron in a slightly wet state with a dry iron. The function "steam" will help to smooth out all folds and bruises.
So that there is no trace left from the spots, and the tablecloth does not lose its appearance and has served the hostess for a long time, it is necessary to use modern laundry detergents, without the use of chlorine, which corrodes the fibers of the fabric, depriving it of wear resistance. Remember the old tablecloths? Or napkins from my grandmother's "chest" with stitches or embroidery? But now such tablecloths and napkins are at the peak of popularity!
Even if you buy a ready-made set of tablecloths and napkins and decorate it with embroidered monograms with the initial letters of your surname - this will be only yours family rarity. And if you sew such a set with your own hands and decorate it with hand embroidery, its value will increase many times over! Such things will be carefully stored and proudly used during the most festive moments in your family.
It is only necessary to observe a few rules:
□ the cloth it is better to take only natural - flax or cotton of good quality. Plain weave fabrics can be decorated with stitches or cross-stitch. But on the twill weave, thanks to their shiny and smooth surface, satin stitch looks great.
□ threads forembroidery it is better to take imported ones of good quality so that they do not shed during washing.
□ there is a little trick. To protect the tablecloth with embroidery fromspots, on top of it on the table lay a tablecloth of the same fabric, but smaller in size of the table. Then the main tablecloth is visible, and it becomes less soiled.
Such a tablecloth is called naperon.
Instead of naperon, you can use tracks. They cover the center of the table and also keep the main tablecloth clean. The size of the track is usually 200x60 cm. If the table is small, then the track is reduced in length so that it hangs at the edges by 25 cm.
The track and naperon can be made of a fabric of a different color, for example, in the color of embroidery.
But the napkins should be in the color of the main tablecloth. Their size is usually 40x40 cm.
It is better to sew a tablecloth to fit the table. Take the size of the countertops and add to it 25−35 cm on each side.
□ fromspots better get rid of before washing.Grease stains with a dishwashing detergent, treat wine stains with lemon or citric acid and rinse with boiling water, it is better to soak a heavily soiled tablecloth and napkins before washing for an hour in warm water, then wash as usual. This will require a little more time, but for a long time will save your table linen.
